This isn’t “I paid off £50k in 6 months”. It’s “I’m still here — and so are you.”
Survive on a Budget was born out of those weeks where the numbers simply did not add up: health stuff, debt, divorce, rent, life happening all at once — and no magical “just budget better” solution. This space is for people who are trying, even when “trying” means just getting out of bed and paying one bill.
The reality behind the website
I’m not a millionaire, a financial advisor, or someone who thinks skipping coffee will buy you a house. I’m someone who’s juggled overdue notices, chronic stress, and “how is it already the 25th?” more times than I’d like.
The guides here come from lived experience, lots of trial-and-error, and a deep belief that you’re not a failure just because the cost of existing is ridiculous right now.
What you’ll find here
Not perfection. Not shame. Not “you should have known better.”
Instead, you’ll find:
- • Survival-mode food plans when you only have a few pounds/dollars left.
- • Scripts for calling companies when you’re scared & embarrassed.
- • Small, low-energy side-income ideas that respect burnout.
- • Gentle reminders that your nervous system matters too.
